Book corner: Deep Work

When I get emails about books I love, tech I use, or other things that are part of my business and workflow, I find myself sending out the same list. Soooo, why not post it here for y'all so it's current and easy to get to?

Deep dive into your productive mind

A favorite from the past few years is Deep Work by Cal Newport. If you're wondering why multitasking isn't working well for you, or how you can better focus to get things accomplished, this is a wonderful read.

Here's some more info on the book:

“Deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. It's a skill that allows you to quickly master complicated information and produce better results in less time. Deep work will make you better at what you do and provide a sense of true fulfillment that comes from craftsmanship. In short, deep work is like a superpower in our increasingly competitive twenty-first-century economy. And yet, most people have lost the ability to go deep-spending their days instead in a frantic blur of e-mail and social media, not even realizing there's a better way.”

Everything I post I have used myself, read, and/or stand behind. If you try something and love (or hate) any of these items, send me a note using the contact form above. I'd love to hear your feedback so I can keep this list current, and more importantly, make sure it's helpful.

Happy reading!
